Whether you’re looking forward to or lamenting it, Black Friday is just around the corner. Last year, I stocked up on joggers and tees for my kids from Childhoods and purchased a few dresses in the next size up from Alice + Ames. The year before, it was matching Tannenbaum (evergreen trees on heather grey) pajamas from Hanna Andersson.

While I don’t hit up stores for Black Friday (even pre-Covid), I will check out the deals online. And while Black Friday comes every year, it’s easy to feel unprepared and overwhelmed.

BLACK FRIDAY & SUSTAINABILITY

Some time ago, I made a shift to be more deliberate and thoughtful in how I purchased kids’ clothing. I’ve tried to adopt a more sustainable approach, selecting versatile pieces that can get lots of wear. Garments have to go with everything else in their wardrobe so they can be interchanged seamlessly. I buy pieces that can get at least 14 wears.

But Black Friday is not necessarily the antithesis of sustainability. Eco-conscious households still give presents to kids, and they still need to buy dishes and furniture and clothing and appliances. And Black Friday is the opportunity to save money.

Black Friday doesn’t have to mean you shop-til-you-drop and overbuy a glut of purchases. Black Friday can be a time to thoughtfully purchase things you really need and want when they’re on sale. Taking advantage of good deals isn’t just for shopaholics.

Also, I find that when I research all of the deals, I can see what aligns with my what I need and focus on the best value. If I know that some stores offer better deals, I can joyfully ignore all their holiday sales hype and revel in #JOMO, not #FOMO.

BLACK FRIDAY ROADMAP: PLAN YOUR PURCHASES AT YOUR FAVORITE HIGH-END KIDS’ BRANDS

For those who love more niche, high-end kids’ clothing brands, Black Friday presents an opportunity to save big on brands. You can find deals for brands that rarely go on sale. Or the lowest sales prices all year for brands who frequently run sales events.

Having a “map” of what the sales will be for your favorite kids’ brands will help you plan your shopping purchases. Max out your shopping dollars a little more thoughtfully, and find some PJ’s and boots and joggers – and sustainable toys – that will delight you all year round.

DON’T FORGET SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY, TOO

Small Business Saturday is still a “thing” and has been since American Express coined the term and rain the first massive campaign in 2010. American Express even bought loads of expensive Facebook ad inventory and gave it away to small boutiques and merchants.

Small Business Saturday encourages people to shop locally and also to support small businesses. While the initial intent was to support brick-and-mortar stores, there are a lot of only-only small retailers who need your support too.

Some smaller shops embrace the term “Black Friday” since that is the term shoppers are commonly searching for. Other businesses actively reject the term, and around Thanksgiving, they will run “other” sales promotions. Holiday Sale, Annual Friends and Family Sale, or Small Business Saturday Sale are just a few of the alternate promotional terms smaller shops might use.

A Small Business Saturday sale can be a one-day-only event or span several days. It depends on what the independent retailer wants to do.

Andy & Evan touts itself as a modern luxury brand for children, offering “traditional” clothing with whimsy. The style is a bit like GAP, but elevated. And with more formal or dressy options. In recent years, Andy & Evan has offered sitewide savings of 40% to 50% off for Black Friday (through Cyber Monday).

Anticipated Deals: Look for Andy and Evan to offer a sitewide Black Friday sale with discounts at or around 50% off. There may be extra markdowns on clearance inventory. The sale will likely start on or close to Thanksgiving and run through Cyber Monday.

Appaman

Appaman is a cool line of clothing designed to “give your kid street cred”. Appaman does have Black Friday sales. In recent years, promotions have included sitewide savings of 20% to 25% off or partnership giveaways with other small brands for children’s apparel and gear.

Anticipated Deals: Based on last year’s Black Friday, look for Appaman to offer around 25% off sitewide. There may be an early or pre-Black Friday sale that starts the Sunday or Monday before Thanksgiving. On the day of Black Friday itself, Appaman will likely offer a more generous discount (i.e. a higher percentage off your sitewide purchase). Shop Appaman.

ATHLETA

Athleta is the Gap’s version of lululemon. Their yoga wear, leggings, loungewear, and exercise apparel are super high-quality and ultra-popular. Sales at Athleta are not common. Athleta carries styles for women and girls in sizes XS to XXL.

Anticipated Deals: Athleta Black Friday Sale offering 20% off your entire purchase. No code is likely needed. Will start later and end sooner than Gap or Old Navy. Shop Athleta.

BABY MORI

Baby Mori sells heirloom quality organic cotton and soft knit clothing and baby essentials, as well as clothing for children 2 to 6 years old, matching family pajamas, maternity clothes, nursery gear, and toys.

Backcountry is a bit like Sierra Trading Post and REI combined – but with better deals on higher-end brands.

BEE AND THE FOX, THE

The Bee and the Fox is a girl-boss brand that sells cool, punchy tees with a retro vibe. Their mission is to create eco-friendly T-shirts that promote (message) positive social change.

For Black Friday last year, the Black Friday sale ran from November 28th to November 30th. The Bee and the Fox offered 20% off orders of $50 or more and 10% off smaller orders. The retailer also offered free shipping for the month of December. Expect 10% to 20% off Black Friday sales this year.

Anticipated Deals: Look for sales up to 30% off sitewide for Black Friday over a 2-4 day window. Depending on sales, a smaller sale (i.e. 15% to 25% off) may be offered in December.

BEYA MADE

Beya Made is an ethical, sustainable clothing brand that sells adorable staples (tops, pants, overalls) that can grow with your child for 3x more wear.

Anticipated Deals: Based on past promos, expect to see sitewide sales for 25% off or BOGO 50% off deals.

BODEN | BABY BODEN | MINI BODEN

While the Boden brand has had many generous Black Friday sales in the past (i.e. 30% off sitewide), last year the British retailer scaled back. For Black Friday 2021, the retailer offered 15% off full-price items and pushed its sales (clearance) inventory hard with discounts up to 40% off for past-season goods.

Anticipated Deals: With prolonged supply chain woes and inflation, I don’t think we’ll see 30% off deals. I expect to see 15% to 20% off full-price merchandise, and extra savings off their past-season apparel.

Shop Boden

Bogs

Bogs make durable and stylish boots for kids with easy on and off loops that you can also use to hang boots to dry. There are endless color and print choices to choose from.

Anticipated Deals: It’s unclear whether or not Bogs will offer a Black Friday sales promotion this year. However, you can shop for Black Friday deals at retailers who carry the Bogs label. These retailers include Nordstrom, Zappos, REI, Amazon, Famous Footwear, and DSW. Shop Bogs.

BOMBAS

Bombas sells super comfy, crazy-popular socks. Socks that people actually get excited about and love to give and receive as gifts.

Anticipated Deals: Like last year, Bombas will likely offer 20% off sitewide over a 7-10 day window with a holiday-themed promo code. Or save 25% off sitewide with my referral link for Bombas. Last two years, Briar Baby offered sitewide savings of 25%. The deal kicked off online the day before Thanksgiving (the 25th) and ran through the 30th. Popular styles sell out at lightning speed. Be prepared!

Burt’s Bees Baby is known for offering affordable organic clothing for babies and kids, as well as stylish matching family pajama sets. Black Friday deals are generous, but items sell out quickly. The retailer has also warned customers that shipping may take up to a few weeks this year due to seasonal delays and other logistic challenges.

Last year, Burt’s Bees kicked off a Deals for Days sale on Wednesday, November 25th. The whole site was on sale, with deals up to 75% off. Expect similarly stellar deals this year. Carter’s stocks a number of sustainable, eco-friendly garments in a more muted color palette. That line is called Little Planet, and it’s Carter’s collection of organic clothing for babies and toddlers. Higher quality fabrics in boutique styles at budget-friendly prices.

Last year, Carter’s ran 10 days of daily doorbusters and offered a huge selection of 50% off merchandise. There were also BOGOs for shoes and boots.

Anticipated Deals: Expect sitewide sales of 30% to 70% off. Deals will likely start on Thanksgiving or the day after.

Coco & Ives sells exquisite womenswear, childrenswear, and accessories.

Anticipated Deals: Based on last year, look for savings of 30% to 70% off sitewide starting a few days before Thanksgiving.

COLORED ORGANICS

Last year, the Colored Organics Black Friday sale was quite generous. Colored Organics ran a Buy One, Get One 50% Off BOGO sales event that spanned 6 days. (The year prior, they ran the same deal but only for a 3-day window.)

Anticipated Deals: The brand will likely run another One, Get One 50% Off BOGO Sale. The sales window will likely be 3-7 days, starting shortly before Thanksgiving.

J. Crew offers good sales on their classic clothing. Last year, J. Crew offered 60% off on-sale styles, plus 40% off almost everything else. The year prior, the retailer offered 50% off your entire purchase.

Anticipated: Look for a Finn and Emma sitewide sale. The retailer offered 20% off sitewide for its Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales events last year.

FRESHLY PICKED

For the Freshly Picked Black Friday Sale last year, shoppers saved up to 35% off their entire purchase. The sale ran from Tuesday, November 24th (two days before Thanksgiving) through Cyber Monday. Shoppers saved 20% to 35% based on total spend.

Anticipated Deals: For Black Friday this year, we expect to see a similar tiered percentage off sale and a sales window of 5-7 days.

FRUGI (WE LOVE FRUGI)

Frugi is an award-winning, organic children’s brand known for its playful, high-quality clothes and their mission to put People & the Planet First. Frugi prints, dyes, and fabrics are all sustainable and eco-friendly. Many garments are reversible and interactive. Clever features increase a garment’s versatility and engage little fingers and minds.

For Frugi Black Friday last year, they offered free delivery and free returns on all full-priced products, and they pushed their sales section hard. (Their sales section is up all year.)

In previous years, Frugi had more generous deals and offered 25% off sitewide deals for Black Friday. Then, Frugi’s Black Friday savings were the best you’d find all year.

GAP

GAP has major Black Friday deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Last year, shoppers saved 50% off their entire purchase sitewide for the Gap Black Friday purchase. The sale ran for several days, and on Black Friday proper (the day after Thanksgiving), Gap shoppers saved an additional 10% off their purchase on top of the 50% off sale. Expect similar 50% off savings this year from the Gap.

Anticipated Deals: Look for savings of 50% to 60% off your entire purchase sitewide and storewide. Deals will likely kick off in mid-November and run past Cyber Monday. The best day for deals will probably be the day after Thanksgiving up until 10 am or until noon. Shop Gap.

GO GENTLY NATION

Go Gently Nation sells beautiful, heirloom clothing for babies, kids, and moms. Soft organic knits and cotton, linens, and prairie-inspired colors and prints are characteristic of the brand. I especially love their sweatshirts, culottes, and dresses. They also sell a large selection of artisan quality toys and nursery gear.

Last year for Go Gently Nation Black Friday, the retailer had a 20% off sitewide sale. A promo code was required.

GOUMI KIDS

Goumi Kids sells my favorite baby sleeper ever. It has possibly the softest material of any sleeper I’ve ever tried and comes with reinforced knees, and cuffs you can easily fold down for mittens and booties. And the brand Goumi Kids is co-founded by an Asian woman which I love.

Last year for Goumi Kids Black Friday, Goumi offered a discount of 15% off purchases of 5+ items. A referral invite (to save $30 off $80+) is still a better deal – and I’m jealous I can’t get that $30 off. (That’s like a 37.5% discount.)

Anticipated Deals: We expect to see a percentage of your total purchase around 15% to 20% off. You may need to purchase a minimum number of items to get the discount. The discount is not likely to reach 37.5% off, so using this Goumi Kids referral link is still a better deal (unless you will be spending around $200 or more.

The H&M Black Friday Sale over the past couple of years was 30% off everything.

In recent years, sales and discounts have not been as generous at Hanna Andersson. Last year the retailer offered 40% off absolutely everything, and an additional 10% off for their Cyber Monday Sale. The year before, Hanna Andersson had slightly better sales (including 50% off all family pajamas).

Anticipated Deals: Hanna Andersson will likely offer a 40% off sitewide sale. There may be restrictions on final sale items. Shop Hanna Andersson.

HATLEY

The Canadian retailer has high-quality pajamas, boots, outerwear, and other kids’ apparel. Last year for Black Friday, Hatley offered 50% off sitewide and the sale kicked off on November 25th. The year before, Hatley offered 25% off regular-price items and an extra 20% off sale items.

Anticipated Deals: This year for Black Friday, Hatley will likely offer 25% to 50% off sitewide. If the discount is on the lower end, there will probably be an extra percentage offered on sale items.

HOUSE OF KIDS

Last year, House of Kids offered Black Friday deals up to 50% off. Throughout a long holiday sales window, House of Kids rotated their featured deals by brand or category. One promo, for example, was 30% off all footwear.

Anticipated Deals: House of Kids has stated that Black Friday will start on November 24th. Deals have not been announced, but they have given a date.

A thoroughly British brand of boots (worn by the Royal Family). Since 1856, Hunter has delighted people with stylish and high-quality footwear to equip those “who dare to find their own path”. Hunter does offer Black Friday deals that kick off on or around Thanksgiving. In recent years, the retailer has offered up to 50% off select styles.

Hugo Loves Tiki

Hugo Loves Tiki is a modern, maximalist clothing line for modern babies and kids. Bold and playful prints and typography are trademarks of the brand. Some of my favorite clothes ever for Henry and Margot are from Hugo Loves Tiki: a green terry romper with picnic ants print, a PEZ logo fleece jumpsuit, and a soda-face print dress.

In recent years, Hugo Loves Tiki has offered Black Friday sales of 25% to 30% off sitewide for Hugo Loves Tiki and their other sister brands Banana Valentine and Romey Loves Lulu. Certain in-season items may have been excluded.

Anticipated Deals: Hugo Loves Tiki (HLT) will likely have a generous Black Friday sales event that kicks off close to Thanksgiving. Illoura the Label The Label is a slow-fashion brand and has not had Black Friday or Small Business Saturday sales. The retailer does not run any promotions in November and December. (Some slow-fashion brands will do so and refer to the events as Customer Appreciation or Holiday sales.)

Anticipated Deals: None. Illoura The Label doesn’t do Black Friday. They do, however, have periodic sale events online. Last April, the retailer had a 20% off sitewide sale. And in April 2021, the retailer held a mid-year sale offering 40% off online with “new in” items excluded. Look for sales well into January or later.

ITTI KID

Itti Kid sells eco-friendly, unisex, organic children’s clothing and toys from Scandinavia. Brands include Maileg Mouse, Duns, Villervalla, Moromini, Alba of Denmark, and Maxomorra.

Last year for Black Friday, Itti Kid offered 50% off its Black Friday collection which featured over 1,000 items (toys, apparel, accessories).

Anticipated Deals: Itti Kid will likely have a Black Friday collection of select items for 40% to 50% off. The retailer may refresh or update its Black Friday collection throughout the holiday sales season.

JAMIE KAY

Jamie Kay is a New Zealand brand that produces outdoorsy vintage-inspired clothing for babies and kids. Obsessed is a word that gets tossed around too easily, but I’ll say it. I’m obsessed with Jamie Kay leggings and sweatpants and joggers (Morgan pants). They feel like butter.

Last year, Jamie Kay had an epic Black Friday sale. Hundreds of items in the Black Friday collection were on sale for only $7. In the two years prior, Jamie Kay Black Friday was around 40% off sitewide.

Last year, the retailer was still planning its sale in October (an insider told me there would be a sales event of some kind but they were working on details). Joah Love Black Friday deals are quite generous. Joah Love is known for clothes with a beachy retro vibe, super-soft knits, hoodies, joggers, tie-dye and camo prints, and for making stylish and comfy face masks that kids love to wear. Joah Love is a women-owned business.

Last year, Joah Love held a 40% off sitewide sale. In previous years, Joah Love offered BOGO 50% off savings.

KicKee Pants is known for its super-soft, bamboo sleepers, pajamas, blankets, and casual apparel separates.

Last year, KicKee Pants had select deal categories offered in 1-day windows. (For example, on November 26th only the retailer offered 30% off select bedding and blankets.) The year prior, KicKee Pants had markdowns ranging from 20% to 80% off. Older lines were more heavily discounted.

In recent years, LL Bean Black Friday deals have ranged from 15% off to 25% off sitewide. Deals have started on Thanksgiving or the day after and ran through Cyber Monday. Last year, however, LL Bean offered 15% off of their Wicked Good Slippers and NO OTHER deals for Black Friday. This may have been related to supply chain and shipping logistics.

Anticipated Deals: With an economic slowdown, LL Bean will likely feel compelled to offer promotions on a wider range of goods. Still too soon to guess what the retailer may offer in the way of seasonal sales. Bookmark this page and check back. Shop LL Bean.

Anticipated Deals:  There will be some sort of L’ovedbaby Black Friday sale – that seems clear. It will either be a percentage off a certain category of newer merchandise or additional savings off past-season inventory, or a combination of both. Shop L’ovedbaby.

LAKESHORE LEARNING

Lakeshore Learning Black Friday deals have not yet been announced. But based on their Black Friday sales events over the past two years, we do have a good idea of what’s around the corner. Lakeshore Learning generally does progressive savings. The more you spend, the higher percentage of savings you can get. Other than the past two years, Black Friday savings were $10 off purchases of $50+, $15 off $75+, or $25 off purchases of $100 or more.

Anticipated Deals: Lakeshore Learning Black Friday will likely be another progressive sale. The more you spend, the more you save.

Lali Kids

Lali makes “playfully inspired clothing for little darlings”. This brand is a women-led collective, offering beautiful clothing rooted in “historic tradition.” As a fair trade, sustainable brand, Lali Kids has very few promotions. Lali Kids encourages thoughtful and ethical consumption of fashion.

Anticipated Deals: We do not anticipate any Black Friday promotions or other sales events taking place during the traditional holiday shopping period. Many stockists who sell the label do offer Black Friday promotions to shoppers, including Maisonette, Junior Edition, Mini Ruby, and Bohemian Mama.

LAND’S END

Land’s End Black Friday sales have a reputation for being generous. (Last year I got my husband a long-sleeve silk tee for $34.97. It was a killer deal.) Savings are typically 50% to 70% off sitewide with a promo code required. (The promo code is wallpapered all over the website and is impossible to miss.)

Anticipated Deals: Last year for Black Friday, Land’s End offered 70% off sitewide. Expect 60% to 70% off sitewide this year.

LE PETIT ORGANIC

Le Petit Organic sells clothing, toys, and nursery gear for babies and children. Last year, the retailer offered 10% off full-price items (sitewide) or an additional 25% off all sales items.

Anticipated Deals: There will likely be some sort of Black Friday promotion this year – likely 10% to 15% off your total purchase and additional savings off of on-sale merchandise.

LES COYOTES DE PARIS

Les Coyotes de Paris is an environmentally friendly luxury brand that produces ultra-cool, high-quality clothing for girls and teens aged 10-18.

Anticipated Deals: In past years, Les Coyotes de Paris has had 20% off sales for the weekend of Black Friday. There may be a 3-day sales event this year that runs from the day after Thanksgiving through Monday.

LIBERATE YOUR BOOKSHELF

Liberate Your Bookshelf is a local, small-business owned book store. Last year they offered a 20% off sale for Black Friday.

Anticipated Deals: Look for a similar Black Friday markdown of around 20% off this year.

Liewood

Liewood creates irresistibly beautiful toys, outerwear, and home products for the modern family. Soft textiles are organic and sustainable. Liewood has everything your child needs for sleeping, eating, and playtime – and all the gear they need to splash in puddles and run through sprinklers.

Liewood doesn’t do Black Friday. A few years, they dubbed the day after Thanksgiving “Do Good Friday”. That year, Liewood collaborated with Global Climate Institute in Zambia, Africa to plant trees and combat climate change. When shoppers purchased a product with a tree label, a portion of the sale went to planting a tree.

Anticipated Deals: Liewood itself will not be running a Black Friday promotion unless the brand has changed its position on conscious living. A number of stockists who carry the Liewood brand do offer Black Friday promotions. Among these brands are Babyshop.com, Alex and Alexa, Scandiborn, and Smallable.

LITTLE BIPSY

Expect solid Little Bipsy Black Friday deals. Over the past two years, the Black Friday promo started several days before Thanksgiving and offered 25% off the entire site.

Anticipated Deals: For Little Bipsy Black Friday this year, expect a sitewide sale of 20% to 30% off that starts at least 5 days before Thanksgiving. Shop Little Bipsy.

LITTLE GREEN RADICALS

Little Green Radicals is quite similar to Frugi – organic clothes that are playful and super high-quality. All clothing is 100% organic and fair trade. Last year, Little Green Radicals offered 15% off 2 items or 20% off 3+ items.

Anticipated Deals: Lola + The Boys will most likely have a Black Friday sales event, with discounts of around 30% to 40% off. The sale will likely start close to Thanksgiving and run for at least 3-5 days.

LOVELANE DESIGNS

Expect Black Friday deals of 25% off your purchase for the Lovelane Designs holiday sale. Based on last year, expect the sale to kick off the Monday or Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

LOVEVERY

Lovevery is a monthly toy subscription kit for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. From birth to age 4, the kits contain all the toys you’ll ever never need to play and bond with your child. Subscriptions to Lovevery start at $36 per play kit, or you can buy a one-time play kit at a higher cost.

Maileg

Maileg is a Danish brand that creates the most exquisite children’s toys. Beautifully crafted, the toys are full of innocence and whimsical charm and modern appeal. You’ll find the Maileg Mouse and dollhouse inside even the most minimalist of nurseries and playrooms.

Maileg has had Black Friday promotions before. These generally feature a line-up of select merchandise that is discounted by varying amounts. Last year, Maileg did not offer a discount for Black Friday. Instead, the retailer chose to celebrate the “Season of Miracles”. A portion of all purchases was donated to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation.

Anticipated Deals: It’s unclear if any sales promotions will figure into Maileg’s marketing this holiday season. A number of stockists who carry Maileg do offer Black Friday promotions. Some of these retailers to shop for Maileg discounts include Maisonette, The Tot, and Norman & Jules.

MAISONETTE

Maisonette is an online retailer selling toys and trendy clothing for babies, kids, and moms. Last year Maisonette offered a sitewide sale of 10% to 20% off based on the total order amount. Additionally, over 15,000 items were priced at 30% off.

For Black Friday last year, Mango had over 1,000 items priced up to 50% off. The year prior, Mango offered 30% to 40% off all orders with the savings percentage based on the total order amount.

Anticipated Deals: For Mango’s Black Friday sale this year, expect a progressive sale with savings of 25% to 50% off based on total spend. Mini Mioche is sustainable, ethically made clothing for babies and children aged newborn to 12 years. The brand focuses on timeless fashions that are organic and super-soft. Everything is made in Canada, including the custom fabrics that are knit and tied in Toronto.

Mini Mioche has had a complicated on-again, off-again relationship with Black Friday. Last year, Mini Mioche joined forces with other small Canadian businesses to celebrate Black Friday. Mini Mioche and other participating sustainable brands donated a large portion of their sales to support blue ocean conservation initiatives.

Anticipated Deals: Mini Mioche will almost certainly again be participating in Blue Friday for Black Friday this year. It is possible that Mini Mioche will offer a sitewide discount in addition to the donation of a portion of its sales to Blue Friday ocean conservation initiatives. Over the past several years, Misha & Puff has not held Black Friday specific promotions. Misha & Puff encourages consumers to buy garments and shoes sparingly, and of long-lasting quality. They firmly discourage overconsumption.

Nordstrom

This high-end shopping mecca celebrates Black Friday in a big way. The retailer offered up to 50% off select brands items for Black Friday last year, as well as an additional 20% off many on-sale items. There was also a $60 bonus note promo. There will likely be similar Black Friday deals this year.

Nordstrom is my go-to place when I want to shop for stylish and unique children’s clothing. Nordstrom is a fabulous store to shop for their own in-house labels and for other brands. I have found Mini Boden clothes there cheaper on Nordstrom racks than what was offered on the Boden website. And if you happen to find an item at Nordstrom that the brand is selling for cheaper on their own website, Nordstrom will match the price.

Sales have not been as generous in recent years (gone are the days of 40% off sitewide sales on furniture), but with the economic slowdown, that could change this year. Reima

Reima is a Finland-based children’s brand on a mission for children to drop their phones and get outside and play. Reima products contain no harmful chemicals and they only partner with socially and economically responsible suppliers and production facilities. Many of their garments are recyclable like their mono-material jackets.

Anticipated Deals: Reima may or may not have a Black Friday-specific sale. If there is an event, it will be close to Thanksgiving and the retailer will likely offer special savings on a set of featured items.

REMIE GIRL

Remie Girl offers simple, sweet twirly dresses, jumpers, and skirted leos for little girls. Last year, Remie Girl had an epic Black Friday sale offering 50% off nearly the entire site. The sale launched early on November 15th. A few years prior, Remie Girl had a 20% off Black Friday Sale that also kicked off on November 15th.

Anticipated Deals: Remie Girl will likely have a Black Friday sales event. Look for a generous sitewide discount of 35% to 50% off.

RIVET APPAREL CO.

In recent years, Rivet Apparel Co. has run a Black Friday promotion. Last year, Rivet Apparel Co. offered a 30% off sitewide sale that ran from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday.

Anticipated Deals: Expect a Black Friday sale at Rivet Apparel Co. this year. It will probably kick off on or close to Thanksgiving and run for 3-7 days. A sitewide discount of or around 30% off seems likely.

Smartwool has the best wool socks and base layers. They look and feel soft as cotton – if not softer. There’s a reason their tagline is “Discover the magic of Merino.” Last year, Smartwool did not have a sitewide discount for Black Friday but it did offer a free gift (worth $25) on purchases of $99+.

Anticipated Deals: Smartwool may have a promotion for Black Friday, but it will likely be an extra discount off sales items or a free gift with purchase. Your best bet will probably be the 15% off your first purchase at Smartwool when you sign up for their mailing list. Shop Smartwool.

The types of deals have been inconsistent, ranging from other small children’s labels to offering a giveaway to sitewide discounts. Last year, Soor Ploom offered a sitewide sale of 25% off that ran from Black Friday through Cyber Monday.

Stella McCartney Kids

Couture-style duds for kids, what’s not to love? Stella McCartney Kids clothing is stylish, playful, and graphical. Patterns and prints are colorful but not juvenile. The collection even features high-style Disney licensed garments with more unique Disney characters from vintage Disney films.

You can shop Stella McCartney Kids on a few online children’s retailers, but the Stella McCartney website has by far the best selection.

Stride Rite is one of the few kids’ labels that offers wide-width shoes for toddlers and kids.

Anticipated Deals: Stride Rite has regular sales events throughout the year, and discounts are especially generous for its Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Ugg Black Friday deals are pretty spectacular. This spendy, sheepskin brand doesn’t often run sales. (Although you can almost always find clearance markdowns on less popular shoes and seasonal styles.)

The holiday season is when Ugg shines. Black Friday deals as part of their “Cyber Closet” collection offer savings of 40% to 60% off footwear and apparel. In recent years, UGG has added new deals daily to its Cyber Closet.

This popular, minimalist Japanese fashion brand offers Black Friday savings. Last year, the retailer discounted hundreds of popular items for its Black Friday Arigato Sale. The year prior, Uniqlo offered 25% to 50% discounts on hundreds of featured items.

Last year, the retailer offered a whole week of savings with special markdowns on hundreds of items. Markdowns featured goods discounted from 25% to 50% off.

Anticipated Deals: Look for discounts (of varying amounts) on a collection of Black Friday items. It seems unlikely the retailer will offer a sitewide discount. Based on recent years, look for the sale to last 5 to 8 days and to kick off on or close to Thanksgiving. Shop Uniqlo.

United By Blue

United Blue is the ultimate sustainable, eco-friendly brand. For every 1 item sold, United By Blue cleans up 1 pound of ocean trash. Unwrapped Life is an eco-friendly brand on a mission to prevent plastic bottle pollution. The retailer sells bar soap, bar shampoo, bar conditioner, bamboo accessories, recycled plastic accessories, bamboo washcloths, and other related products.

Veja is a French footwear and accessories brand (that goes by Vert in Brazil). Veja was the world’s first sustainable sneaker brand with shoes made from high-quality recycled materials, organic cotton, and sustainably sourced leather. Ultra-stylish, flexible, and comfy, Veja brands are equally loved for their good looks and great fit.

Anticipated Deals: In 2018, the retailer decided to stop featuring Black Friday promotions to “get off the wheel of capitalism”. However, you can shop up to 40% off sales twice a year during end-of-seasons sales. Stockists who carry Veja may offer Black Friday promotions, including Ssense and Farfetch.

VINEYARD VINES

Vineyard Vine deals for Black Friday this year have yet to be announced. Based on recent Black Fridays, expect to see a 5-7 day event that starts the Tuesday before Thanksgiving – if not earlier. And the sale will likely wrap up at the end of the day on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Last year, Vineyard Vines offered up to 60% off sitewide and a promo code was required. The year prior, Vineyard Vines offered storewide savings of 30% online and in physical stores.

Well Dressed Wolf does have special releases and promotions throughout the year, holidays included. But as a high-end cottage label that does small-batch releases, it’s not feasible for Well Dressed Wolf to have large-scale sites.

Past Black Friday promotions for Black Friday have included 20% off Good for the Gosling rompers, Advent bunting and Christmas stockings with 1-cent shipping, and special holiday releases.

Anticipated Deals: Well Dressed Wolf will likely not have a promotional sale but expect the retailer to have special holiday-themed garment drops for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Wild Wawa

Wild Wawa is an organic, ethical brand that produces beautiful garments to elevate everyday childhood and important milestones. Handcrafted touches showcase the expert skill of their artisan workers. Clothing has a soft, vintage yet timeless feel with lots of retro touches.

This hip Brooklyn company sells organic cotton staples with colorful and urban-inspired prints. Everything is designed and made in NYC. Sales are not common, but Winter Water Factory does offer Black Friday deals. Last year, the retailer offered 30% off sitewide and free shipping.

Anticipated Deals: The retailer will likely have a Black Friday sales promotion. Look for sitewide savings at or around 30% off and extra discounts on clearance items.

WOLF AND RITA

Black Friday deals for Wolf and Rita may be available at retailers that stock this brand like BabyShop, Melijoe, and Farfetch. Last year, online retailers who carry the label offered brand discounts up to 70% off. On the Wolf & Rita website, there was a Black Friday-Cyber Monday Sale for up to 30% off all current season (autumn-winter) items.

Anticipated Deals: Look for savings on current season garments on the Wolf and Rita website and discounts of 20% to 70% off at third-party stockists who carry the Wolf and Rita label.

WoolX

Based in Upstate New York, WoolX sells a huge line of Merino wool clothing for camping and everyday life.

Wynken

Wynken is a hip, unisex brand of clothing. Based in London, this high-end fashion label creates playful, urban childrenswear for kids aged 2 to 11.

A young brand, Wynken launched in 2019. Thus far, Wynken has not had any Black Friday or Cyber Monday promotional sales. Historically, Wynken offers 40% off sitewide starting 1-2 days after Christmas.

Anticipated Deals: No anticipated Black Friday Sale for Wynken, but starting the day after Christmas you will likely find significant savings on Wynken.com. End-of-season sales offer the best discounts on the brand in late December and late July. Stockists who carry Wynken, like Ssense, Babyshop, Alex and Alexa, Junior Edition, and Shan and Toad, will have Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotions though.
